Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) sure is making the rounds this Spring! Last night, Alexis headed down to Pier 17 in NYC for a shipboard party held on The Majesty Yacht. The party helped H&M celebrate Matthew Williamson as http://www.hm.com/us/#/mw/ for them.

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) also stars in the upcoming movie The Good Guy, which will be premiering soon at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday, April 26th. Here is a new preview for the film:
The Good Guy follows the story of rising Wall Street star Tommy (Scott Porter), a man who appears to have everything he could want in life, including a beautiful girlfriend, Beth (Alexis Bledel). He’s described as Beth’s ‘knight in shining armor.’ However, as their relationship develops, cracks begin to appear in their seemingly storybook romance. One of those cracks involves another man. The movie shares in the lives of NYCs over-achievers who work hard and play harder, exposing also the urban dating scene and the culture that’s obsessed with money, sex and greed.
Likely the movie will have a stronger rating, though as yet that hasn’t been announced.

Emily Bergl (Chilton’s elite Francie Jarvis in Gilmore Girls) appeared in the first episode of new NBC cop drama series Southland, which premiered on April 9, 2009.
In the pilot episode, “Unknown Trouble”, rookie LAPD officer Ben Sherman (Benjamin McKenzie) is learning the ropes. We see many police scenes before we catch up with Emily’s character. Emily Bergl guest starred in the episode as Tammy Bryant, wife to Detective Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy).
In the episode, Tammy has just kicked Sammy out but calls him to come home and make a baby with her. She’s upset about their marriage and why it’s not working. Sammy thinks they don’t have much in common, but denies cheating on her. Tammy grows angry and tells him not to come home. Given all the drama here, we’ll probably see her back in the series for additional episodes.
Here’s a promo for the new Southland series:
A few months ago I mentioned that you could submit questions to Lauren Graham for a feature interview with Broadway.com talking about Guys and Dolls and much more. That interview is now done and the 12-minute interview can be watched below:
Lauren Graham answers some fun fan questions for the interview:
- As an Irish gal, do you live up to the fun-loving image so many people have?
- If you could have the voice of any singer, dead or alive, who would it be?
- Did you participate in musicals during high school? Which roles did you play?
- Were you nervous to strip down as a hot box girl on stage?
- What’s your favorite costume?
- What kind of music do you like listening to? Favorite artists?
- Do you come from a theatrical family or are you the black sheep?
- What’s the wackiest thing you’ve been asked to do for a tv commercial? (funny wedding dress commentary)
- In what ways are you like Adelaide?
- What do you look for in a man? (cute sarcasm)
- Now that you are in New York for a while, how is your dog handling it?
- Would you do a Gilmore Girls reunion show in, say, 10 years?
- Don’t you have a new show coming up? Tell us about it! (She expects the show name to change, BTW)
- What are some items in your dressing room?
- Do you have any funny auditions stories you’d be willing to share?
- What’s your favorite song in Guys and Dolls?
- What’s the best part about being on Broadway?
Her answers to all the questions are hilarious, and I’m glad the questions were a little outside-the-norm, allowing us to get to know Lauren a little better.

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) will be premiering her movie The Good Guy at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday, April 26th. I have a couple of new photos of the film, as well as a revised synopsis.
Tommy tries to pass his seduction and money-making skills to co-worker Daniel (Bryan Greenberg), landing Tommy in hot water when Daniel goes after Beth, landing them in what Alexis calls a “kind of love triangle.” From the new synopsis for the film: Set against the fast-paced world of NYC’s modern over-achievers who work hard and play harder, the film explores the contemporary urban dating scene and the culture of a world obsessed with money, sex and greed.
In an interview recently with Entertainment Weekly, Alexis describes the movie as being “about the divide between two worlds – the Wall Street world and the world of girls and dating.” From the producers of Transamerica and L.I.E., the film also stars Andrew McCarthy, Bryan Greenberg, Aaron Yoo and Anna Chlumsky. Vanessa Marano (April on Gilmore Girls) was occasionally guest starring in the new TNT series Trust Me as Haley McGuire, one of Mason’s (Eric McCormack) children.
The Hollywood Reporter is saying that TNT has sealed the fate on the low-rated drama, which never took off with viewers and continued to tank week after week. The series is cancelled with no new episodes to air. I didn’t think it was horrible, but I guess something about it didn’t work with viewers on that network.
Vanessa Marano fans can still catch her on The Young and the Restless on CBS, where she plays the role of Eden Gerick. She’s been in 29 episodes so far.

Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) was the April 10th InStyle “Look of the Day” Pick for the outfit she wore to the Gotham Magazine Party:
They note that Alexis “mastered the menswear trend” that many celebrities are doffing this season, wearing an outfit from Zadig & Voltaire with Christian Louboutin heels and a box clutch. The outfit from French brand Zadig & Voltaire included the shirt (Djimini Tank), though I’m not sure if it also included the black cigarette pants (these?) or the tailored blazer .
Rory is turning 21 in a few days in ‘Twenty-One is the Loneliest Number’ and Lorelai, though pouting about her dream to take Rory to Atlantic City to be playing 21 when Rory turned 21, is still not willing to reach out to her. Lorelai will help Rory when she decides she wants to return to school, and not earlier (immaturity we’ve talked about at length already). Anyway, Rory is dreaming that it’s 4:03 on her birthday and, instead of Lorelai waking her up like she does every year to tell her the story of her birth… it’s Madeleine Albright?!

Why Madeleine Albright, the first female US Secretary of State? Why would Rory dream that Madeleine was her mother? I get the whole “voice of your mother” thing, as a channel for Rory wanting to see her mother again. But I don’t understand why Madeleine Albright was that voice for Rory. Another powerful and respected woman in her life, perhaps? What do you think?

Lauren Graham paid a visit to the new Late Night with Jimmy Falon show on NBC last night. Just like with her outfit earlier in the week for The View, Lauren looked amazing!
Lauren was there to promote her role on Guys and Dolls, talking at first about getting used to living in New York again after getting used to LA life.
Jimmy brings up how Gilmore Girls is such a cultural phenomenon, with Lauren responding:
“You know, for me, it’s over. Because it’s over. But it lives on. And so, like, I come to New York and I’m doing a musical, I’m wearing a blonde wig and I have a New York accent, you know I’m doing this thing that’s written in the ’50s and still, like, I walk out of the stage door at night and people are like ‘When’s the ‘Gilmore Girls‘ movie??’ and I’m like, ‘OMG are you kidding me?’”
Lauren Graham says that Sex and the City changed things and it’s almost like you’re letting people down if you don’t make a movie.
Lauren talks about working on Guys and Dolls and her awe at Kelly Clarkson wanting to come backstage to meet her. Lauren shares that she loves American Idol, with Jimmy accidentally telling Lauren a spoiler, since she hadn’t caught up with all the episodes.
Ew! Apparently Lauren Graham paid a visit to Celine Dion’s vocal coach, since Broadway is taxing on the vocal chords. Jimmy shares a photo taken of Lauren Graham’s vocal chords, from a scope put in her mouth. As a joke, Jimmy and Lauren decide to ask and answer a question while singing. It’s cute. Lauren also shares her New York accent for the Guys and Dolls role of Miss Adelaide.
Ausiello, who tried to fool Gilmore Girls fans on April Fools day by saying “OMG! Warner Bros. greenlights Gilmore and V. Mars movies for release in 2011!”, at least made up for that lost hope by giving us some scoop on Alexis Bledel.
As well as mentioning that Alexis Bledel went to see Lauren Graham perform in Guys and Dolls, saying she was “totally amazing,” Ausiello has some quotes from Alexis about her guest appearance tonight on ER’s series finale and on Alexis’ thoughts about returning to television.
Alexis describes her experience on ER as “wonderful” and “emotional”, saying that everyone was crying on set, not wanting to part ways. 15 seasons, I’m not surprised!
However, despite enjoying her return to television after Gilmore Girls, Alexis shares she’s not ready to return to television full-time:
“There were a few [pilots] that I looked at; I just wasn’t ready to sign up for six years. I have commitment anxiety at the moment. I’m sure it will wear off in the next couple of years.”
Here’s a photo of the cast and crew of ER celebrating the bittersweet finale:
